1、 Documents and information to be provided by the applicant

1. Entrust a trademark agency and sign an agency agreement.

2. Power of attorney for trademark agency signed and sealed by the applicant; Foreign or Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan applicants can use fax copies.

3. Fill in the trademark registration application form: mainly including the name and address of the applicant, the goods/services designated to be used, and whether to explain the trademark; If the applicant is from a country where Chinese characters are used, such as Japan and South Korea, it is better to provide both the name and address of the applicant.

4. 10 trademark drawings shall be provided, and one black and white ink draft shall be attached for color drawings.

5. If the applicant is a mainland unit, a copy of the duplicate of the business license of the enterprise must be provided; If the applicant is a natural person in mainland China, he/she must provide a copy of his/her ID card.

6. When claiming the priority, it is required to provide the priority certificate, which can be submitted within 3 months after the application is submitted.

7. If the applicant uses the portrait as a trademark, a notarized declaration of the applicant's consent to the registration of the portrait as a trademark shall be attached.

3、 Time required for trademark registration

The time required for a trademark application to be approved for registration depends on the specific process. If the application goes smoothly in the legal procedures, it usually takes about 3 years. However, if in the examination procedure, the Trademark Office issues a notice of correction and examination opinions, or enters into a special procedure, that is, when the application is objected by others after the preliminary examination and announcement or the application is rejected and enters the reexamination, the time for the final approval of the registration will be extended accordingly.

4、 Validity period of trademark registration

According to the Chinese Trademark Law, the term of validity of a registered trademark is ten years, counting from the date of approval of the registration. You can apply for renewal of registration within 6 months before the expiration of the validity period. The validity period of each renewal of registration is 10 years.
